At Climate Asia, we lead transformative climate action across the Global South, steering communities towards a future marked by equity and sustainability. We connect climate changemakers in the Global South with experts and funders, providing the resources they need to create sustainable, impactful solutions.
Asia’s population of nearly 5 billion people is vulnerable to several harsh effects of climate change. This includes extreme weather, rising sea levels, water scarcity, and food insecurity.
Our vision is a climate-resilient future where communities thrive through adaptability, equity, and sustainability.
Our goal is to support 500+ grassroots organisations looking to scale climate adaptation solutions by 2030, impacting 1+ million small- scale farmers.
In the drought-prone region of Bundelkhand, India, Krishna Devi, a small-scale farmer, faced the daunting challenge of unpredictable weather and poor soil conditions. The region’s frequent droughts and low rainfall made farming a constant struggle.
Krishna Devi’s life took a transformative turn when she attended a climate-smart agriculture workshop organized by a local civil society organization supported by Climate Asia. There, she learned about innovative techniques like drip irrigation for water conservation, drought-resistant seeds, and crop rotation to improve soil health. With access to mobile apps providing real-time weather updates and personalized farming advice, Krishna Devi was able to adopt these practices effectively.
The impact was profound. Her farm, once struggling, began to flourish with healthier crops, higher yields, and increased income. Her success became a model of resilience, inspiring other farmers in her village to adopt similar practices. Krishna Devi’s journey is a testament to the power of climate-smart agriculture and the impact it can have on communities.
Inspired by stories like Krishna Devi’s, Climate Asia is committed to reaching over a million small-scale farmers, empowering them to adopt life-changing technologies and building a robust, climate-resilient ecosystem. By demonstrating a commercially viable approach to climate adaptation in agriculture, we aim to improve the adaptive capacity of farmers, support national climate adaptation priorities, and catalyse investment towards sustainable agricultural practices.
Krishna Devi’s journey is just the beginning. Together, we can transform the agricultural landscape and foster a resilient future for farmers and their communities.
